Finalist in Remembering Great Apes Photography Contest
I was absolutely delighted to have received notification that one of my mountain gorilla images had been shortlisted into the final 100 images to win one of ten places to be featured in the Remembering Great Apes book. This is the third book in Margot Raggett’s phenomenal Remembering Wildlife series. Having previously featured Remembering Elephants and Remembering Rhinos.
The books are funded via a kickstarter campaign and then publish the collective images of over 65 of the world’s best wildlife photographers, among them many winners of the acclaimed WPOTY title.
Remembering Great Apes is dedicated to raising funds for the conseravtion of the world’s great apes – Gorillas, Chimpanzees, Orangutans and Bonobos in association with Virginia Mckenna’s Born Free foundation.
The book is being edited by Ian Redmond who worked closely with Diane Fossey and has been instrumental in great ape conservation around the world. The forward will be written by the incredible Jane Goddall, who is to Chimpanzee conservation what Diane Fossey was to Gorilla conservation.
I have been lucky enough to have assisted Margot in previous years with the Remembering Wildlife series. Offering assistance at the London exhibition for Remembering Elephants and also helping with the social media campaign for Remembering Rhinos. It is a wonderful project, which I am honoured to have been associated with and played some small part in the raising of over £300,000 for wildlife conservation so far. It would truly be an honour to have my images featured in this incredible book alongside some of my heros and help to raise vital funds for conservation, so please keep your fingers crossed for me. The winners will be announced at the end of May.
It is still possible to buy the first two books in the series, knowing that not just a percentage but every single penny you spend will go straight into Wildlife conservation, they are available on the links below:

Here’s a selection of our images that we are very much hoping will be selected to have the honour of a place in this wonderful book and allow us to actively contribute to this incredible conservation fundraising initiative.
