Welcome to episode 76 of the Nurtured by Nature podcast, today I’m delighted to be joined in conversation by Evan Harrison CEO of Kiss The Ground.
If you don’t know what Regenerative Agriculture is then you aren’t alone, research showed that just a couple of years ago only 4% of the US population understood what it was. But thanks to the determination of organisations like Kiss The Ground this is changing.
Regenerative Agriculture is a powerful and growing movement, which at its core is so much more than simply a way for farmers to farm. It is a remembering and reconnection for all of us to the food we are consuming and the soil beneath our feet. It offers us a truly viable solution for both personal and planetary health, a more prosperous life for the farmers who feed us and steward the land and more nutrient dense foods available in our local communities, which is the foundation to improving our own health and wellbeing.
There are 4 core principles to Regenerative agriculture but it doesn’t have to be all or nothing , it is an ecosystem approach where we learn to listen, work with and respond to nature, it is not new, drawing on the practices from Indigenous people but it has an amazing capacity to offer us solutions that are already having an incredible impact on our health and environment.
Evan is a passionate advocate for storytelling and reminds us that it’s important to meet people where they are and share information that will excite and inspire others. With this in mind, Kiss the Ground have available an incredible diversity of information and resources to support consumers to find healthier food but also to share the stories of the farmers who are writing a new story for humanity, one in which both nature and humans can thrive. Everything they do is in support of farmers, so make sure you check out the resources in the show notes to find out how you can build momentum for this incredible movement and don’t forget to watch their latest mini documentary.
